Overview

The Davis Vision Eye Surgery Center at Syosset Hospital offers the most up-to-date ambulatory surgical care for patients in need of specialized eye surgery. We perform over 6,000 procedures annually in five operating rooms exclusively dedicated to eye surgery.

Some of the conditions treated are:

  • Cataracts
  • Glaucoma
  • Diseases of the cornea
  • Strabismus
  • Diseases of the retina

These types of surgical procedures require a coordinated team approach and we have a highly trained, dedicated team of surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists and surgical technicians. A wing of Syosset hospital has been designed specifically for the high quality care of eye surgery patients. It is our belief that this concentration of resources has created a patient-friendly and safe environment, with maximum efficiency for the surgical team to provide the best possible care.

At the Davis Vision Eye Center, patients and their visitors benefit from a newly renovated waiting area with flat screen televisions, wireless internet and a coffee bar. The waiting room is staffed with a patient liaison to answer questions and keep patients and families updated. Patient satisfaction is extremely important to us and the unit has been recognized by Press Ganey for having the highest patient satisfaction scores in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
